Welcome to the first-ever edition of Reading List. A new format I wanted to try out for a while. Inspired by my buddy Claudio who just celebrated his 100th reading list. Basically, I collect links to things I read or watched and found interesting.
Clean PhpStorm Setup
My favorite IDE is PhpStorm. In its default form, it was always a bit cluttered. Christoph shows us how to make it clean and tidy:
WordPress mega menus with blocks
Slowly we are getting there where you can build really nice mega menus with just blocks. You might remember how I did this before:

Now both GenerateBlocks Pro and the creator of the Ollie theme shared their upcoming approaches:

Livewire 4 and the future of PHP components
With Livewire 4 on the horizon, Caleb introduced a new way forward for Livewire components. I'm not yet sold on single file components, because they tend to get too big, but it certainly is an interesting approach:

Laravel Boost and a first-party MCP SDK
For a while now, I have played around with Claude Code to assist me in building and improving my Laravel apps. Laravel introducing an AI coding kit and a first-party MCP SDK wasn't on my list, but I can't wait to give it a try.

Ghost 6 is out
I am very excited for Ghost 6. This site runs on Ghost, and it has been a wonderful experience. The reason I decided to go with Ghost is simple: I want a site that just works, and I don't want to fiddle with it all the time. I didn't update yet, but I will soon.

You can just do things
Risking that I might sound too much like a fanboy, but I just wish I was half the Aaron Aaron is today 😄

Another reason to love Filament
Have you seen what you can do with Filament? It goes way beyond admin panels for CRUD apps already, but this is just another wonderful reason to use it:
That's it, the first reading list. I'll eventually make it available as an additional newsletter, but for now it's just a little something I wanted to publish.
